Ben's Bird Box

My nephew Ben who is only 9 made a wooden bird

box and came to me to decorate it with him.

We used white acrylic for the main box and a yellow

distress paint for the roof.

We stamped ivy trails over the roof and edges to

add some interest.

The main image on the front is by Stamps Away - blue tit

Inkylicious bird to the sides along with grasses

stamps from Woodware.

Ben was so pleased with his masterpiece, as am I.

Man Flu - Challenge 24

 

Challenge 24 - Anything Goes over on Cards For Men Challenge Blog

 

This is my entry into challenge 24.  The image is a digi stamp from

our sponsor Dr. Digi's House of Stamps 'Man Flu'

 

 

The image has been coloured using promarkers and cut

using an Xcut Stamp Die.  Edges distressed with yellow ink

and backed onto Forever Friends patterned papers.

 

Do have a go at this challenge as you are not restricted to any one theme.

but it'll be holding a bloody big chainsaw!
 

Grasses Stamping

More nature stamps.

 

I have stamped directly onto my card front in sepia.

Using the same stamp with kaleidoscope inks onto

a separate piece of card and heat embossed.

Distress ink to the edges then mat and layered

onto black card.

 

 

 

 

 

This stamped image has been cut into three equal strips

and layered onto corrugated card.

Christmas Baking

 

This is my first craft project in over a month. 

 

Those of you that know me well, already know the reason for this,

but suffice to say I have a funeral to go to on Wednesday.

 

This card was made with a stamp that I received this

morning from My Mums Craft Shop.  'Sweet Treats Emily

by Sparkle Creation' is the prize given

to me for entering their Facebook giveaway.

 

I am delighted with it and decided to make a Christmas Card

as it is fast approaching that time of the year.

 

 

Hedgerow - Black & White

 

I just love nature stamps and these by Woodware

give a great impression every time.

 

The image has been embossed with a silver sparkle

and simple mat and layered onto the card front.

 

The words are by inkylicious.

Bakers twine to finish.

 

 

 

Stamp & Emboss

 

On this card I have stamped using kaleidoscope colours,

then used sparkle embossing powder and

heated the image to set.  I have used distress

ink around the edge to focus the eye onto

the image then mat and layered. 

 

Prior to adhering the mat and layer I have used

an embossing folder again of grasses directly onto the

card and picked out the raised areas with a little ink.

I have decoupaged the images onto adorable scorable

I have used a 6 x 6" Kraft card.

Backing paper by Papermania from Tilly Daydream range.

XCut Dies Hexagon

The digi stamp is ' Going Fishing 6605'

 

 

 

The funny verse typed on computer and printed.

 

The fish had been backed onto card and cut out, then

held in place with Tim Holtz idea-ology memo pins.

 

The image has been coloured using water colour pencils.

 

 

Farming Cards

A selection of farming cards.

 

I have had these toppers for a long time and

finally have got round to using them.

 

This first card the topper was cut into each parts

and embossed with a branch folder.

Raffia has been wound around the card face,

three metal brads and a sentiment to finish.

 

 

 

This card has a vintage backing paper, and the topper

put on at a jaunty angle prior to using two embossing

folders one across the top 'birds on a wire' and one down

the left hand side 'Grasses'. Raffia again wound around

and card candi used rather than brads.

 

 



This card is simply toppers mat and layered with

grass backing papers.  Twine and raffia wrapped

around and metal brads.

 

 

On this card the branch embossing folder has

been used and various backing papers from my

stash.  Raffia, crystal bling and a sentiment to finish.

Get Well Edna

 

This is another commissioned card for a lady who actually

has undergone a heart by pass.

 

This is an A5 card covered in backing papers from craft

stash.  I have used a 'House Mouse' Image decoupaged.

 

Marianne boarder die with glitter ribbon threaded through

and the ends cut like fish tails to stop fraying.

 

 

 

 

The flourishes are from Sizzix die range.  The flower is

cut from felt using Xcut flower dies, heated with a heat gun

to stop fraying and held with a pearl brad.

 

 

The image was a close as I had to say get well i.e. this is for someone

with a cold, but will also work for this occasion

 

The sentiment was generated on my computer.

Harbour Scene

 

This card is from the Hunkydory Range

'Hobbies & Pasttimes'

 

I have decoupaged the harbour topper.  Cut up the

A4 baking card, so I had the houses only and bowed

this around my decoupage to add depth to the card

 

 

By doing this bowed front it also makes you look into the card

to see all the detail.

 

Very pleased with the outcome!

Tilly Daydream Autumn

I love this card as it is so different, it comes with

the thread, decoupage, sentiment and insert.

I just added some ribbon and bling.

 

 

Leaves cut from the packaging to add to the overall effect.

 

 

 

The insert reflects the shape of the overall image on

the front.

Patchwork Pals Outdoor Fun

 

I have had the Patchwork Pals toppers for a while

thought the images were great, but I did not know

how to present them on a card until I decided

to keep them really simply and clean looking.

 

All I have done is mat and layered the toppers

and sentiments, added a bit of ribbon and

embossed the backing card.

My DT card for the latest Cards for Men Challenge

is Anime Soccer Digi Stamp from Kenny K.

 

I have mat and layered several backing sheets from my

craft stash, once all the edges have been inked, so no white

edges show.  I have also used a Dufex ribbon of

footballs to break up the lines.

 

 

 

 

The image itself has been coloured with watercolour

pencils, the image cut out and the corners punched

with a Woodware invert corner punch and distress

inked the edges to make the image stand out.
