Ben's Bird Box

My nephew Ben who is only 9 made a wooden bird

box and came to me to decorate it with him.

We used white acrylic for the main box and a yellow

distress paint for the roof.

We stamped ivy trails over the roof and edges to

add some interest.

The main image on the front is by Stamps Away - blue tit

Inkylicious bird to the sides along with grasses

stamps from Woodware.

Ben was so pleased with his masterpiece, as am I.

The funny verse typed on computer and printed.

 

The fish had been backed onto card and cut out, then

held in place with Tim Holtz idea-ology memo pins.

 

The image has been coloured using water colour pencils.

My DT card for the latest Cards for Men Challenge

is Anime Soccer Digi Stamp from Kenny K.

 

I have mat and layered several backing sheets from my

craft stash, once all the edges have been inked, so no white

edges show.  I have also used a Dufex ribbon of

footballs to break up the lines.

 

 

 

 

The image itself has been coloured with watercolour

pencils, the image cut out and the corners punched

with a Woodware invert corner punch and distress

inked the edges to make the image stand out.

Brickwall Card

This is another card created for Creativity TV

 

It is a stamped image, water coloured and cut up

to look like a brick wall.

 

This can prove to be fiddly, so when I cut each brick

I placed them onto a semi sticky sheet to keep all

the pieces in the right order otherwise you end up with a puzzle. 

 

I then removed some of the bricks not required and mounted

the one I did require onto my mat and layer.

 

I stamped my sentiment into an area where the bricks have

been removed so the whole card is balanced.

 

Again all products are from DoCrafts.

 

 

Mirror Stamping

This card was for Creativity TV

whereby it was demonstrated in full.

 

Basically it is the same stamp used twice once

straight onto white card and the second time on to

acetate and then placed onto the white card below

the first stamped image.  The second image is

reversed and is also a much lighter image.

It looks like the frog is standing at the waters edge.

The products used are all from DoCrafts.

Once the paper has been glued to the card blank it

was then sanded at the edges to age.

Each piece was then layered and adhered to the card

as seen.
