Commissioned 60th Birthday Card
Mary loves her cats so I thought this would go down well!
6 x 6 white card stock, mat and layered cat backing paper onto lilac shade backing paper.
Stick together backing paper, then place onto white card (without sticking it to card) with a Marianne die in place to cut through the three layers. Once this is done back the mat and layered piece with acetate to cover the opening that's just been cut. Now stick the acetate and layered section over the card black exactly where the die cut, so everything is in line. (This method stops you having to put acetate inside of blank card and then cover where the tape/glue shows through).
Mat and layer the inside of the card and place the piece of die cut again in the exact area where it was cut, this way when the card is closed it look's almost uncut and the collar picture running up the left hand side is intact.
I then printed on to white card stock my insert message and then cut this out with a die, so it sits inside the other frame as shown.
On with decorating the front of the card, I place the cat onto the acetate, so that when I stuck what looks like a ball of wool/ball hanging from the flower decoration it would not cover the cat picture, but still be part of the overall theme.
I used petaloo flowers, with a Pepper and friends brad and punched foliage to decorate the top right hand corner.
I printed my own sentiment, edged it in purple pen, stuck two pearl embellishments in each corner of this sentiment and placed it in the top left corner.
Cut out a paw print and tied a piece of paw print ribbon and glued these in opposite corners to balance the card.
I hope you like this!
